Troubleshooting: when you're stuck

Something not working? Most problems have a quick fix. Find your symptom below.

Generation

My prompt was refused

Alloy only builds websites and apps. Rephrase it as a site or app, for example "a landing page for my poetry book". Refused prompts do not use your quota.

Generation is taking long

Most sites finish in about a minute, big apps can take a few. If the progress bar stops moving for more than two minutes, refresh the page: the job keeps running on the server and the Studio picks it up again.

The AI answer was cut off or malformed

Alloy retries automatically. If it still fails you see a clear error and nothing is counted. Try again, or simplify the prompt.

Generation failed with a provider error

The model service was busy. Wait a minute and try again; failed generations are not charged.

The Free plan includes 1 prompt in total. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited prompts.

I paid but I am still on Free

Pro turns on shortly after payment. Sign out and in again. If it still shows Free after 10 minutes, email us with your order number from the receipt.

The Code tab is locked

Source code, zip download and Git are part of Pro.

Preview

The preview is blank or shows only the header

Open the Live tab to run the real app, then ask for a fix such as "the home page sections do not render". If Live works, the preview usually updates after the next version.

I see text like `about.value1` instead of words

A translation key is missing. Ask: "fill in the missing text on the about page". New projects fill missing keys automatically.

Images do not match my topic

Ask for specific photos: "use photos of dogs playing in a park in the gallery".

Hebrew layout looks mirrored wrong

Switch the language in the header to Hebrew; the site flips to right-to-left. If a section stays left-to-right, ask Alloy to fix that section.

Git

"Repository already exists"

Pick another name; Alloy never overwrites an existing repository.

Connection cancelled or expired

Click Connect again and approve Alloy on the provider page within a few minutes.

Import shows conflicts

Both you and Alloy changed the same files. Choose which version to keep; nothing is overwritten until you do.
